Field Update Early on Monday, 9 May 2022, a Palestinian male was killed in Hebron during an armed family dispute. The victim was not party to the conflict.PCHR investigations revealed that a fight started between al-Zour and al-Hadad families at approximately 01:43 in al-Mokhtar area in the southern part of Hebron city, which falls under Israeli jurisdiction. The parties exchanged fire, wounding 20-year-old Moustafa Majed Abdulhafeez al-Rajbi with a live bullet in the head as he was exiting his home, located in the area. Al-Rajbi was transported to Mohammed Ali al-Mohtaseb Hospital, and he was dead upon arrival. In consequence, members of al-Rajibi’s family set fire onto several shops and two houses belonging to al-Hadad family.The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights expresses its concern towards the continued incidents of weapon proliferation and denounces the use of firearms in family and personal disputes, a matter that poses a real threat to life and civil peace in Palestine.
