Field Update

Yesterday, 01 December 2018, a Palestinian young man was killed after he sustained a live bullet wound due to misuse of weapons at his house in Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip. This incident is part of the phenomenon of misuse of weapons and breaches of the rule of law prevailing in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt).

According to investigations conducted by the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR), at approximately 23:20 on Saturday, 01 December 2018, Samed Hadi Mohammed al-Masri (18) arrived as a dead body at Beit Hanoun Governmental Hospital in Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip, after he sustained a live bullet wound to the abdomen due to the misuse of weapons in his house.

PCHR is deeply concerned over the increasing number of casualties due to the misuse of weapons. PCHR also calls upon the competent authorities to take the necessary measures to protect civilians of the dangerous of weapons.
