Palestinian citizen was shot and killed, and his brother wounded in a family dispute in Yatta village, south of Hebron. The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) is deeply concerned over the increasing manifestations of social violence phenomenon and misuse of weapons in family disputes.

According to PCHR’s fieldworker, at approximately 23:00 on Saturday, 17 October 2020, Diab Mousa Mohammed Abu Sabha (34) from al-Salam neighborhood in Yatta, south of Hebron governorate, arrived dead at al-Ahli Hospital with a gunshot wound in the abdomen; his brother, Sa’eb (36), was hit with a live bullet in his leg. Both brothers were shot by the same person on grounds of a family dispute.

The Public Prosecution seized Abu Sabha’s body and decided to transfer it to the Forensic Medical Department at al-Quds University for autopsy; Palestinian security forces closed the neighborhood where the suspect’s family live.

PCHR is deeply concerned over the increasing number of attacks on the rule of law in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt), and calls upon the competent authorities to enforce stringent measures in the face of the increasing manifestations of weapons use outside the rule of law, especially in recent times, which resulted in the death and injury of several Palestinians.
