Opening Fire at House of ‘Azzam Solhob in Hebron

On Sunday evening, unknown armed persons opened fire at a house belonging to ‘Azzam Solhob, the Deputy of the Change and Reform Bloc in the dissolved PLC, in Hebron. No injuries among the residents were reported. The Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) condemns this crime and stresses the importance of intensifying efforts to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

 

According to PCHR’s investigations, at approximately 01:00 on Sunday, 17 March 2019, gunmen armed with machine guns fired live bullets at a house belonging to ‘Azam Na’man ‘Abd al-Rahman Solhob (62) in al-Rahma Square in Hebron. The live bullets hit the house outside door and one of the bullets penetrated the door of ‘Azam’s car. No injuries among the house residents were reported. It should be noted that Palestinian Security forces arrived at the crime scene in the early morning hours and asked him to submit a complaint relating to this incident.

 

The spokesperson of the Palestinian Security Services, General ‘Adnan al-Dmiri, said to media that security services continue to investigate into the circumstances of opening fire at Solhob’s house and car, in addition to other shooting incidents in Hebron.

PCHR condemns this incident, which violates the rule of law in the oPt, and calls upon the General Prosecution to seriously investigate the incident, prosecute the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
