Member of the Fatah Revolutionary Council Shot in Gaza City
On Tuesday evening, ’21 November 2006, ‘Abdul ‘Aziz ‘Ali Shaheen (Abu ‘Ali), a member of the Revolutionary Council of Fatah movement, was wounded, when unknown persons fired at him in Gaza City.
According to investigations conducted by PCHR, at approximately 21:00 on Tuesday, 21 November 2006, a number of gunmen traveling in a civilian car (a white Mercedes) without a registration plate, fired at ‘Abdul ‘Aziz ‘Ali Shaheen, 66, when he was near his house in al-Remal neighborhood in Gaza City. He was wounded by a live bullet to the left thigh. He was evacuated top Shifa Hospital.
PCHR is concerned over such attacks, which threaten the lives of Palestinian civilians and constitute a continuation of the state of security chaos in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. PCHR calls upon the Palestinian National Authority, represented by the Attorney-General, to investigate such attacks, and bring their perpetrators to justice.
