Head of Al-Nassariyah Village Council Shot Dead by Unknown Persons in Nablus

 

Field Update

 

Palestinian man was shot and killed yesterday evening, 28 March 2020, by unknown persons in al-Nasariyah village, northeast of Nablus.

According to PCHR’s investigations, at approximately 23:00 on Saturday, 28 March 2020, Hasan al-Dabas (48), Head of al-Nasariyah Village Council, was sitting with 2 others in a storehouse belonging to Abu Rweis Family on the main street of the village, northeast of Nablus, when a gunman stepped out of a car and directly shot at them.  Al-Dabbas was shot with 2 live bullets in the leg and abdomen that killed him immediately.  A Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) ambulance arrived and took him to the Tubas Turkish Hospital; meanwhile, the Palestinian security services arrived and closed the scene to open an investigation into the incident.

PCHR condemns this incident which violates the rule of law in the occupied Palestinian territory and calls upon the Public Prosecution to open a serious investigation and prosecute the perpetrators to bring them to justice.  PCHR also calls upon the competent authorities to take more strict measures to combat the illegal use of weapons.
