A Man Killed and Another One Wounded in a Family Dispute in Gaza 

On Sunday, 29 April 2007, a man was killed and his brother was wounded in an armed interfamily dispute in al-Shojaeya neighborhood in the east of Gaza City.

According to investigations conducted by PCHR, at approximately 14:00 on Sunday, 30 April 2007, a dispute among members of the Abu Jabal family in al-Mansoura Street in al-Shojaeya neighborhood in the east of Gaza City escalated to the use of firearms. As a result, Fares Ibrahim Abu Jabal, 50, was killed by a gunshot to the chest, and his brother Khaled, 45, was wounded by a gunshot to the right leg.

PCHR is gravely concerned over the continued use of weapons in personal and family disputes, which is further aggravating the state of security chaos in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. PCHR calls upon the Palestinian National Authority, represented by the Attorney-General, to investigate such attacks and to bring the perpetrators to justice.
