A Leader of Naser Salah El-Deen Brigades Killed by Unknown Assailants in Gaza City

In the predawn hours of Thursday, 31 August 2006, Ra’ed Mohammad El-Nahhal (30-year old resident of Beach camp), was killed by unknown assailants. El-Nahhal was a leader in Naser Salah El-Deen Brigades, the armed wing of the Popular Resistance Committees.

PCHR’s preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 01:30 on Thursday, unknown assailants fired at El-Nahhal while he was in his car in Sawi Street in Beach Camp. He was hit by several bullets in the head. El-Nahhal was taken to Shifa Hospital, when efforts to save his life failed.

PCHR is concerned over the continued falling of victims by use of arms by Palestinian groups and individuals, which is a part of the security chaos plaguing the Occupied Palestinian Territory. The Centre calls upon the Palestinian National Authority, represented by the Attorney-General, to seriously investigate these crimes and bring the perpetrators to justice.
