Field Update
On the evening of Sunday, 07 February 2010, Fadi
Talal Bahjat Isma’il, 29, from al-Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza
Strip, was killed by two gunshots.
According to investigations conducted by the Palestinian
Centre for Human Rights, Isma’il’s body was brought to al-Aqsa Martyrs’
Hospital in Deir al-Balah at approximately 14:30 on Sunday; he had been killed
by two gunshots to the abdomen. The body
was transferred to the department of forensic medicine at Shifa Hospital in
Gaza City. According to medical sources,
Isma’il was killed by two gunshots, fired at him from a very close range, that
entered his body at the abdomen and exited through the back.
The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights regards this
incident as part of the state of security chaos and proliferation of weapons
plaguing the Occupied Palestinian Territory, and calls upon the
Attorney-General’s office to investigate it in depth and make the results of
investigation public.
