Field Update
On Friday evening, 05 March 2010,
unknown persons fired at the house of a member of the Revolutionary Council of
Fatah Movement in Gaza City. No
casualties were reported.
According to investigations
conducted by PCHR, at approximately 22:15 on Friday, 05 March 2010, militants
fired at the house of Mohammed Jouda al-Nahhal, 45, member of the Revolutionary
Council of Fatah Movement, in Tal al-Hawa neighborhood in the southwest of Gaza
City, and escaped in a civilian vehicle. The police arrived at the area and initiated an investigation. According to al-Nahhal, he and his friend,
Suleiman ‘Abdullah al-Rawagh, 45, member of West Gaza Bureau in Fatah movement,
were in the guestroom of the house, when they heard intensive shooting at the
house. They mounted up to the upper
floor when the shooting stopped. They
saw a civilian car in the street, a while Hyundai, fleeing. The two men then got out of the house to check
the damage. The found holes in the fence
of the house and the body of al-Rawagh’s car.
PCHR condemns this attack, which
falls within the prevalent state of security chaos in the Occupied Palestinian
Territories OPT. PCHR further calls
upon the Attorney-General’s office to seriously investigate the attack and
bring the perpetrators to justice.
