al-Jawarish, 43, from Kharas village north of Hebron, and Eyad Hassan Abu
Shahma, 20, from Khan Yunis, were killed in two separate incidents due to the
misuse of weapons. These two incidents are attributed of the misuse of weapons
and attacks on the rule of law in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt).

According to investigations conducted by the Palestinian
Centre for Human Rights (PCHR), the first incident took place at approximately
01:00 on Friday, 01 June 2012. In this incident, Omar Murshed Abu al-Jawarish was
wounded by a bullet to the abdomen. The bullet was shot from a firearm of one
of al-Jawarish’s relatives as they were looking for a stranger in a field
belonging to the al-Jawarish family.

In the other incident, Eyad Hassan Abu Shahma

was carrying as they were in the garden of their house in al-Sheikh Nasser area
in Khan Yunis in the south of the Gaza Strip. Abu Shahma was transferred to

PCHR is deeply concerned over casualties
resulting from the misuse of weapons and notes that these incidents are part of
the state of security chaos and attacks on the rule of law in the oPt.  PCHR calls upon the Attorney General’s office
to open investigations into the reported incidents.
