The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) continue their widespread and systematic attacks across the Gaza Strip, including the killing of civilians through aerial bombardment and direct gunfire targeting civilian gatherings, displacement tents, and vehicles.
This pattern reveals a consistent policy aimed at deliberately inflicting conditions of life intended to bring about the physical destruction of the Palestinian population through widespread killings, systematic destruction, and forced displacement. It thereby reinforces the material elements of the crime of genocide and demonstrates that the targeting is not limited to individual victims but is directed against the continued existence of the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip as a whole.
Among the incidents documented by the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR)’s field researchers since last Wednesday are as follows:
At approximately 13:55 on Sunday, 12 July 2026, an Israeli drone fired three missiles at a metal workshop used for drilling water wells in al-Sabrah neighborhood, Gaza City. As a result, four Palestinians were killed, several others sustained various injuries, and the workshop and its surroundings suffered extensive damage. Those killed were identified as: Akram Ramzi Ahmed Tafesh (52), Mohammed ‘Ali Mahmoud Bedwan (35), Bilal Jawad Sabri Basal (43), and Ahmed Abdel Karim Ragheb Mahani (48).
At approximately 16:00 on the same day, a resident received a phone call from the IOF ordering the evacuation of a residential block in the same area in preparation for an attack. About 25 minutes later, Israeli warplanes launched four missiles, causing powerful explosions that shook Gaza City. Once the dust had settled, it became clear that the strike had targeted the same metal workshop as well as a four-storey residential building. The attack inflicted extensive damage to several nearby homes, displacement tents, vehicles, and shops. Several people sustained minor injuries from flying debris, including four journalists identified as Ayman al-Hissi, Sa’ed Hasballah, Khaled al-Sultan, and Ahmed Kuhail, while covering the attack.
At approximately 12:30 on Sunday, IOF stationed within the so-called “Yellow Zone” east of Deir al-Balah opened fire towards residential areas to the west. As a result, Tala Jom’ah Mohammed Abu Matar (8) was shot in the head while she was inside her family’s tent in al-Nour and al-Huda Camp, established near ‘Ein Jalut Towers, southeast of Nuseirat Refugee Camp in the Central Gaza Strip. She was transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, where medical sources announced her death at approximately 13:05 after she succumbed to her injuries.
It should be noted that the area where the incident occurred is an open area that has repeatedly come under fire from IOF using military lifters overlooking the western parts of the area.
At approximately 15:30 on Saturday, 11 July 2026, an Israeli drone fired a missile at a white Kia Sorento civilian vehicle travelling north of Wadi Gaza Bridge on al-Rashid Street, west of Nuseirat Refugee Camp in the Central Gaza Strip. As a result, 3 Palestinians, including the driver, were injured.
According to field investigations, the driver was directly targeted again with at least two additional missiles while attempting to flee the scene and run towards the beach. As a result, he was killed and identified as Hassan Mustafa Zuhair al-Razaynah (21). The two other passengers sustained various injuries and were transferred to al-‘Awda Hospital in Nuseirat Refugee Camp for treatment.
Earlier that morning, an Israeli drone attacked two Palestinians while they were collecting firewood near the Yellow Zone in al-Satr al-Gharbi area, northeast of Khan Younis, killing both. They were identified as ‘Amr Hani Salamah (21) and Mohammed Majed Mohammed Abu Sneidah (29).
At approximately 16:40 on Thursday, 9 July 2026, an Israeli drone fired a missile at people gathered in western Nuseirat Refugee Camp in the Central Gaza Strip, killing a woman and a man and injuring several others. Those killed were identified as Sondos Farah Mohammed ‘Aqeilan (24) and Osama Walid Deeb Muhareb (35).
At approximately 15:15 on the same day, an Israeli drone fired a missile at a white Hyundai Accent civilian vehicle travelling on the road connecting al-‘Abbas and Haidar intersections, west of Gaza City. The driver, Mohammed Mahmoud ‘Abdel Mu’ti al-Fayoumi (34), was killed, while four others sustained injuries, one of them critically. The attack also partially damaged another vehicle travelling ahead of the targeted car and caused damage to several nearby shops.
At approximately 11:43 on the same day, an Israeli drone attacked a group of young men in the al-Batn al-Sameen area, south of Khan Younis, killing Yehia Sa’eed Mohammed Hamdan (26) and ‘Abdullah Suleiman ‘Awad Abu Yousef (23), while several others were injured.
At approximately 15:48 on Wednesday, 8 July 2026, an Israeli drone fired two missiles at a tent sheltering displaced people in al-Ber and al-Taqwa Camp, west of Khan Younis. As a result, four Palestinians, including a child, were killed: Bassam Hussein Qassem al-Qadi (47), his son Hussein Bassam Hussein al-Qadi (19), Rashid Nayef Rashid al-Qadi (38), and Amir Imad Muhareb Sha’ban (10). Several other Palestinians sustained injuries, including one person who was critically wounded.
The recurrent attacks carried out by the IOF against civilian gatherings, civilian vehicles, displacement tents, inhabited homes, and children in public spaces demonstrate a consistent pattern of unlawful attacks on civilians, in violation of the principles of distinction and military necessity. Considered in their widespread and systematic context, these acts form part of the material elements of the crime of genocide, as reflected in their recurring pattern and the deliberate targeting of civilians and the objects indispensable to their survival.
PCHR reiterates its call on the international community to take urgent action to bring an end to the crime of genocide and other international crimes that continue to be committed by the IOF against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip; ensure international protection for the civilian population; hold Israeli leaders accountable through international justice mechanisms; and put an end to the prevailing culture of impunity that has enabled these crimes to continue and escalate.
