The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) continue to escalate mass killings of Palestinian civilians and the widespread, systematic destruction of the remaining residential neighborhoods and civilian infrastructure, while intensifying bombardments of displacement tents and temporary shelters. These attacks continue to kill and injure civilians and repeatedly force them to flee without access to any safe place anywhere in the Gaza Strip. These crimes form part of Israel’s ongoing crime of genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip as the genocide approaches its 1,000th day. They continue amid entrenched impunity and the international community’s failure to take effective action to halt the ongoing crimes, despite their unprecedented scale, intensity, and continuing escalation.
The incidents documented by PCHR’s field researchers over the past few days confirm an escalation in the IOF’s attacks against civilians throughout the Gaza Strip. These attacks have targeted public gatherings, displacement tents, residential areas, and police officers in a recurring pattern that reflects the continuation of mass killings and the expansion of attacks to encompass every aspect of civilian life.
Among the most significant incidents documented by PCHR’s field researchers since last Friday are the following:
At approximately 21:26 on Monday, 29 June 2026, Israeli warplanes struck southern al-Sa’adah Camp, which shelters dozens of tents housing displaced families in southwestern al-Mawasi, Khan Younis. The attack killed a mother and her baby daughter in a nearby displacement camp. They were identified as Diana Mohammed Salem Abu Draz (22) and her one-year-old daughter, Siwar Tha’er Sami Abu Draz. The strike also injured at least eight other displaced people, ignited fires in numerous tents, and caused extensive damage to approximately 125 tents within Al-Sa’adah Camp, where the attack took place. Shortly before the strike, the IOF reportedly called one of the displaced residents and instructed him to inform others in the camp to evacuate and move at least 150 meters away from the site in all directions.
One of those responsible for the camp told a PCHR field researcher that southern al-Sa’adah Camp shelters approximately 300 displaced families, each living in separate tents. He stated that the IOF called more than one camp resident and instructed them to evacuate immediately, triggering widespread fear and panic among the displaced, particularly women and children, who fled amid screams and confusion without being able to take any of their belongings. The strike followed shortly thereafter, completely destroying 125 tents and partially damaging the remaining tents, including the mattresses, clothing, food supplies, and other essential belongings inside them. As a result, hundreds of displaced civilians were forced to spend the night in the open, gripped by fear and panic while children cried during the evacuation.
At approximately 19:33 on Monday, 29 June 2026, an Israeli drone fired a missile at al-Darsh Café near Al-Nos Square in western Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip. At the time of the attack, the café was crowded with civilians spending time on the beach. The strike resulted in the killing of two people: Mohammed Fathi Abdel Hay Abu Fakher (44) and Khalil Hussein Khalil Al-Loqah (32). At least 28 others were injured and transferred to hospitals for medical treatment.
The café’s owner told PCHR’s field researcher:
“After the explosion, the screams of children and women echoed through the area as widespread panic and fear engulfed the large crowds of people gathered there. Mothers frantically searched for their children, overwhelmed by shock. I saw at least 15 injured people, including women and children.”
On the same day, at approximately 11:40, Israeli soldiers stationed in al-Qararah area, north of Khan Younis, opened fire, striking Salim Khader Salim Al-Ashqar (32) with a bullet in the abdomen while he was near his home on Al-Jomeizah Street in western al-Qararah. He was transferred to a Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Hospital in the al-Amal neighborhood, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 14:00 after succumbing to his injuries.
At approximately 09:30 on Monday, 29 June 2026, an Israeli drone fired a missile at people gathered near al-Barakah Fuel Station on al-Barakah Street in Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip. The attack killed three people, including an elderly man and his grandson, and injured seven others with varying degrees of injury. The victims were identified as Hassan Suleiman Hassan al-Hanajrah (68), his grandson, Malek Wael ‘Ezzeddin Abu Shawish (8), and ‘Ali Kaed Mohammed Steitan (23).
At approximately 19:30 on Sunday, 28 June 2026, IOF stationed near the Bani Suheila Roundabout, east of Khan Younis, fired several artillery shells at the ruins of destroyed house, west of Salah Al-Deen Street. One of the shells landed near displacement tents located approximately 50 meters west of the road, in the al-Mahattah neighborhood on Al-Bi’ah Street, injuring Eline Islam Mohammed al-Farra (13) with shrapnel to the head while she was inside her tent. She was transferred to Nasser Medical Complex, where she was pronounced dead a few minutes later.
At approximately 16:50 on the same day, an Israeli drone targeted a person behind the Tabaria Station in northwestern al-Mawasi, Khan Younis, killing Talal Jaber Mohammed Abdel ‘Aal (42) and injuring several others.
At approximately 13:30 on the same day, an Israeli drone fired a missile at people gathered in the Al-Salatin area in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza Strip. The strike killed Wael Mahmoud ‘Ali Lubbad (25) and Mo’az Mohammed Hassan Ahmed (20), while another sustained critical injuries and was transferred to al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City for treatment.
At approximately 15:50 on Saturday, 27 June 2026, an Israeli drone fired a missile at a displacement tent located near the former al-Jawharah Tower at the Dabit Intersection on al-Jalaa’ Street in Gaza City. Approximately ten people were injured, including two whose injuries were described as critical. On early Sunday, 28 June 2026, medical sources announced the death of Sameh Khamis Hassan Abu Kmeil (33), who succumbed to the critical injuries he sustained in the attack.
At approximately 12:14 on the same day, an Israeli drone fired two missiles at a displacement tent in western al-Mawasi, Khan Younis. The attack killed Islam Hassan Mousa Mousa (14) and her brother Abdullah (31), while several other civilians were injured, including one whose condition was reported as critical. Later that evening, medical sources announced the death of Zaher Barham Khalil Abu Salem (45), who succumbed to the critical injuries he had sustained in the same attack.
As part of a policy aimed at undermining public security and creating a prevailing climate of chaos and insecurity, an Israeli drone fired a missile at approximately 17:40 on Friday, 26 June 2026, targeting a white Kia Morning civilian vehicle travelling along Salah Al-Deen Street, west of al-Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. The vehicle was carrying three police officers. One of them was killed instantly, and the force of the explosion torn his body apart. The two others managed to exit the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, but the drone struck them with a second missile, killing them at the scene. The attack also injured six passing civilians, one of whom sustained critical injuries. Those killed were identified as Mansour Sami Mahmoud Shahtout (38), Mohammed Khaled Ahmed Nofal (32), and Mahdi Nader Jum’ah Jabr (36).
This military escalation comes as the IOF continue to expand the so-called “Yellow Zone,” annexing additional areas of the Gaza Strip. As a result, more than two million Palestinians have been confined to approximately 30 percent of the Strip’s territory, creating one of the highest population densities in the world. At the same time, the IOF continue to carry out the widespread and systematic destruction of residential buildings, particularly in the eastern Gaza Strip, through daily demolition operations that are rendering vast areas of the Strip uninhabitable.
These incidents reveal a recurring pattern of Israeli attacks targeting civilians in the course of their daily lives—whether in displacement tents, public recreational areas, the vicinity of their homes, or while travelling on public roads. This pattern reflects the expanding scope of mass killings, the continued systematic destruction of the means of civilian life, and the deprivation of the population of any safe refuge anywhere in the Gaza Strip.
Taken together, these developments demonstrate the IOF’s continued implementation of systematic policies aimed at destroying the conditions necessary for life in the Gaza Strip. Through widespread killings, largescale destruction, and repeated forced displacement, the IOF continue to deliberately inflict conditions of life calculated to make the territory uninhabitable, thereby reinforcing the material elements of the crime of genocide. They further demonstrate that the crimes being committed are not limited to targeting individuals but are directed against the continued existence of the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip as a whole.
Since the declaration of the ceasefire on 10 October 2025, the IOF have failed to fully comply with its terms. Killings, bombardments, and destruction have continued, while the siege and restrictions on the movement of people and goods have remained in place, further exacerbating the already catastrophic humanitarian situation.
According to data released by the Ministry of Health in Gaza, a total of 1,053 Palestinians have been killed and 3,406 others injured since the ceasefire was declared on 10 October 2025. In addition, the bodies of 786 Palestinians killed in separate attacks have been recovered. This brings the overall toll since 7 October 2023 to 73,066 Palestinians killed and 173,514 injured.
Taken together, these policies confirm that the IOF are not merely continuing acts of genocide but are also deliberately creating a coercive environment aimed at forcing the Palestinian population to leave the Gaza Strip. Through systematic destruction, starvation, repeated forced displacement, and the dismantling of the conditions necessary for civilian life, these policies appear to align with proposals advanced under the so-called “Trump Plan,” which has provided political cover for plans of forced transfer and ethnic cleansing. Such policies constitute a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and international human rights law.
PCHR emphasizes that the continued targeting of civilians, including children, displaced persons, and healthcare workers, amid the ongoing siege, starvation, and widespread destruction, forms part of the acts of genocide that the IOF continue to perpetrate in the Gaza Strip. PCHR reiterates its call on the international community to take urgent and effective measures to stop these crimes, ensure international protection for Palestinian civilians, hold those responsible accountable through international justice mechanisms.
