On Wednesday, August 30, 2000, Mr. Raji El-Sourani, Director General of the Palestinian Center for Human Rights met with Mrs. Karen Koning Abu Zayed, Deputy Commissioner General of UNRWA. They discussed several issues on the Palestinian and Israeli agendas, including the refugee issue and the situation of human rights in general.

Mr. El-Sourani also met with a German delegation which included Mr. Michael Ohnmacht, Head of Cultural and Protocol Department and Officer of Political Affairs in the Representative Office of Germany, and Mr. Jorn Bohm, Coordinator of Human Rights and Disarmament Committee in the Green Party of Germany. They discussed the situation of human rights in general and the relevant problems on the Palestinian and Israeli agendas.

On Thursday, August 31, 2000, Mr.El-Sourani met with the Swedish Consul-General Elinor Hamarskjold, the Dutch Representative to the Palestinian National Authority Mr. Ron Mozert, and Mr. Mark Singleton, Head of Development, Department of Cooperation in the Dutch Representative Office. He discussed with them the situation of human rights in general and the declaration of the Palestinian state.
