In presence of Mr. Yaqoub al-Ghandour, the Corporate Comptroller at the Ministry of National Economy, the General Assembly of the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) held its annual meeting on Sunday, 30 June 2019. The meeting was headed by Dr. Riyadh al-Za’noun, Chairman of the Board of Directors (BoD), and attended by BoD Members; Raji Sourani, PCHR’s Director; and the General Assembly Members.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Riyadh al- Za’noun welcomed the attendees and thanked Mr. Yacoub al-Ghandour and the accompanying delegation for their efforts in following up the work of PCHR’s General Assembly.

The meeting agenda included the following: 1) listening to and certifying the 2018 administrative report presented by the BoD; 2) listening to and certifying the 2018 audit report; 3) Choosing a new audit company for 2019; 4) Resignation of the current BoD; 5) Absolving the BoD chairman and members; and 6) Electing a new BoD.

The General Assembly approved the 2018 administrative report presented by the BoD and the 2018 audit report presented by the audit company (Ernst and Young). Moreover, the General Assembly chose Saba and Co. as PCHR’s external audit company for 2019.

After absolving the BoD, the Chairman and members submitted their resignation, and elections for the membership of the new BoD were held.  The elected members were as follows:

1. Riyadh Deeb al-Za’noun;
2. Jaber Metleq Wishah;
3. Nadya Yusef Abu Nahla;
4. Hashem Mohammed al-Thalathini;
5. Essa Mousa Saba;
6. Heba Akkilah; and
7. Lawyer Raji Sourani.

The BoD then held another meeting to distribute the positions.  Thus, Dr. Riyadh al-Za’noun was elected as the BoD Chairman and Jaber Wishah was elected as the Vice-Chairman.
