Al-sourani welcomed the visitors and the meeting discussed developments to the human rights situation in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt). The meeting further discussed the joint work between PCHR and AOHR, which has been going on for more than 25 years

Moreover, al-Sourani stressed the important role of AOHR in exposing the Israeli crimes and appreciated its role in the mission they came for to train the public prosecution and judges in the Gaza Strip.

Al-Sourani served as President of the Board of Trustees of the AOHR for two consecutive elections until 2018.

It should be noted that AOHR is the first regional organization formed in the Arab region and was founded in 1983.
