The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) continue to commit crimes against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip by escalating attacks on inhabited homes, civilian gatherings, and displacement tents across the Gaza Strip, exterminating entire Palestinian families and killing their members inside their homes. This recurring pattern of attacks underscores that the killing and erasure of Palestinian families have become one of the defining manifestations of the crime of genocide that the IOF have continued to perpetrate in the Gaza Strip for more than 34 months. These attacks form part of a policy aimed at destroying the Palestinian group and inflicting the highest possible number of civilian casualties.

Airstrikes carried out since last night until this morning have killed more than 10 Palestinians, including three members of the same family. Among those killed were three women, two children, and a fetus. Others sustained injuries of varying severity. Meanwhile, the IOF continue to tighten restrictions on the movement of people and the entry and exit of goods to and from the Gaza Strip, further exacerbating the catastrophic humanitarian conditions.

Among the most significant incidents documented by PCHR’s field researchers over the past two days are the following:

At approximately 03:00 on Sunday, 02 August 2026, an Israeli drone targeted a room in al-‘Aqqad Palace in al-Mawasi area of al-Qarara, northwest of Khan Younis. As a result, a couple and one of their children were killed and identified as Mahmoud Zaki Isma’il al-Hams (37), his wife Fatimah Fahmi Youssef al-Hams (37), and their four-year-old son, Ahmed. Two of their other children sustained various injuries.

At approximately 01:05 on the same day, an Israeli helicopter fired a missile at an apartment on the seventh floor of al-Sousi Tower near Gaza Port, west of Gaza City. As a result, ‘Abdullah ‘Adnan Abu al-Teif Taha Abu al-Teif (32), his wife, ‘Abeer Kamal Kazem Abu al-Teif (28), and their seven-year-old son, Azzam were killed. Several other residents of the tower sustained varying injuries and were transferred to al-Shifa Medical Complex. ‘Abeer was seven months pregnant, and her fetus was recovered from beneath the rubble of the apartment later that morning. The strike also inflicted damage to the apartment, parts of the tower, and nearby property.

Minutes earlier, at approximately 01:00 on the same day, an Israeli helicopter targeted a two-storey residential building belonging to Abu Mu’eileq family in al-Masha’alah neighborhood, southwest of Deir al-Balah. The attack killed the elderly homeowner, Kamal Nahban Hamad Abu Mu’eileq (68), and his wife, Huda Khaled ‘Arar Abu Mu’eileq (59), injured three others, and caused extensive destruction to the house as well as damage to neighboring homes.

At approximately 22:35 on Saturday, 01 August 2026, IOF stationed inside the “Yellow Line” in al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City opened fire towards residents’ houses and tents to the west. Mohammed ‘Abed Ahmed Abu Ras (44) was shot by a bullet that penetrated his heart while inside his house in al-Kamaliyah area, killing him instantly.

On the same day at around 20:05, an Israeli drone targeted the rooftop of a house in al-Rayyes Family Square, near al-Sina’ah Street in Gaza City, killing Kamal ‘Alaa Kamal ‘Eleiwa (22) and Zakaria Ahmed Darwish Zaidiyah (23).

At around 19:15, an Israeli drone targeted people gathered near the Electricity Company headquarters on al-Thalathini Street in Gaza City, killing Hassan Hisham Mohammed al-Khodari (38) and injuring several civilians, injury of one of them was deemed critical.

At approximately 13:04, an Israeli drone targeted a group of people among displacement tents in northwestern al-Mawasi, Khan Younis. Several were injured, and medical sources later announced the death of Salem Jamal ‘Abdulrahman Abu Lebdah (27), who succumbed to his injuries.

At approximately 12:10, an Israeli drone targeted the yard of the Rabi’a family house in al-Mahattah area of Deir al-Balah, killing the homeowner, Saber Mohammed Khalil Rabi’a (65), and critically injuring another.

At approximately 10:30, an Israeli drone targeted people gathered on the Third Street in Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, Gaza City, killing Hassan Ibrahim Shehdah Qahman (30) and ‘Alaa ‘Emad Khamis al-Taramsi (30), while several other civilians sustained injuries.

As part of its policy of systematically destroying the remaining residential houses, at approximately 00:40 on the same Saturday, IOF ordered the evacuation of an entire residential block surrounding the UNRWA Health Centre east of al-Maghazi Refugee Camp in the central Gaza Strip. About 30 minutes later, they completely destroyed a house belonging to al-Salhat family with two missiles, causing extensive damage to several nearby homes.

PCHR reiterates that IOF’s recurrent attacks on civilian gatherings, inhabited homes with families inside, and displacement tents constitute a persistent pattern of unlawful attacks in violation of the fundamental principles of distinction, military necessity, and precaution. The killing of entire families, including children, women, and fetuses, and the destruction of homes with their residents inside constitute a defining manifestation of the ongoing crime of genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and reflect an escalating pattern aimed at erasing Palestinian families and destroying their existence.

PCHR calls on the international community to take urgent action to stop the ongoing crime of genocide; adopt concrete and binding measures to ensure international protection for the civilian population; and impose a comprehensive embargo on the transfer of weapons and ammunition to Israel that are used in the commission of international crimes. PCHR also calls on the States Parties to the Genocide Convention to fulfil their legal obligations to prevent and punish the crime of genocide, implement the provisional measures ordered by the International Court of Justice, and hold perpetrators of crimes committed against Palestinian civilians accountable, thereby putting an end to the longstanding policy of impunity.
