The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR), represented by its Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Riyadh Za’anoun; Director, Raji Sourani and all BoD Members and staff extends its warm congratulations to our colleagues at Al-Haq and its Director, Shawan Jabarin, for receiving the Bruno Kreisky Prize for Human Rights 2022.
The Bruno Kreisky Prize for Human Rights is one of the most prestigious international awards that is granted every two years to honor individuals and institutions that have rendered outstanding services to human rights. Al-Haq won this prestigious and well-deserved award for its role in defending the rights of Palestinian people, in particular the right to self-determination, and the legal struggle against the Israeli colonial occupation and apartheid against the Palestinian people.
This award is a big honor to the human rights movement and civil society in Palestine and a demonstration of international solidarity with them against the Israeli occupation’s fierce attack against the human rights movement, including the latest designation of six leading Palestinian human rights and civil society organizations, including al-Haq, as “terrorist organizations”. We stress that this attack will make us stronger and more obstinate to continue our efforts in the prosecution of the Israeli war criminals before the international judiciary and challenge the impunity enjoyed by Israel for decades.
Dearest al-Haq colleagues,
We are very proud of you and your work, keep going!
