“Prisoner 10” Dies
Around 12:45 this afternoon, 30 June, prisoner Nasser Radwan died as a result of wounds inflicted during a beating by persons in Force 17, the Presidential security service.
Nasser Radwan, who was 28 years old, married, and the father of three children had been arrested and beaten by Force-17 on 23 June, 1997, and later that day had to be transferred to Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza, where he was labeled “Prisoner 10.”
The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights has published a press release (26 June 1997) regarding the circumstances surrounding his arrest. The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights also complained to the Attorney General and demanded immediate investigation against the illegal arrest of Nasser Radwan.
The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights also demands that the Palestinian Authority, which has already started an investigation, publish results of the inquiry in this very severe and savage incident, and punish all perpetrators involved in the killing, in order to safeguard the rule of law, and promote the human rights of Palestinians.
