PCHR Organizes the Third Course on Women’s Rights for Policewomen

PCHR’s Women’s Unit and Training Unit organized the third training course on women’s rights for policewomen in the Gaza Strip. The course is the latest in a series organized for policewomen.

The current course started on 28 August 2006 in PCHR’s branch in Jabalia. Seventeen policewomen from the northern Gaza Strip are attemding the course. The course will be held over a 4-day period from 28-31 August 2006 with a total of 16 training hours.

The training course curricula includes topics specific to the rights of women including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, personal statute law, convention against torture, convention on the rights of the child, regulations governing the conduct of law enforcement personnel, and prisoners rights.

The trainers are specialized professionals from PCHR. The first day of the course witnessed fruitful discussion and active participation from the trainees.
