PCHR Organizes a Training Course on Human Rights in Gaza

On Sunday, 18 June 2006, PCHR Training Unit, in coordination with Sahem Association for Youth Empowerment in Gaza City, initiated a training course on human rights and gender for members of the association. 

The 15-hour course, is being held at offices of the association, and is expected to continue until 20 June 2006.  18 members of the association are participating in the course. 

Training sessions address a number of international human rights instruments, including: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights; International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights; International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights; Convention on the Rights of the Child; Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women; and Second Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, aiming at the abolition of the death penalty.

It is worth noting that specialized trainers from PCHR conduct the training using various techniques based on effective participation and constructive discussion.
