The training program included topics that meet the needs of the targeted group over five consecutive days. The first day was on the training basics (concept and characteristics, components, philosophy of teaching adults, difference between teaching and training and qualities of an influential trainer). The second day included topics on the Perceptual psychology and communication skills while the third day focused on the training cycle (identify the needs and goals, design and develop the training and evaluate the training.) As for the fourth day, it was about the training techniques and method (concept, classification, and selection criteria) in addition to certain means of training (selection factors, benefits, types, and use.) Finally, the fifth day was putting what the participants has learnt in the course into practice.

For his part, Abdul Halim Abu Samra, Director of PCHR’s Training Unit, emphasized that this training comes as part of PCHR’s efforts to create a generation of youth trainers to be a new addition to the human rights movement as efficient trainers, who would contribute to the dissemination and promotion of the human rights culture.  Abu Samra encouraged the participants to gain more knowledge in the field of human rights and turned what they have learnt into to practice each in his organization and in their society as human rights activists and defenders. Abu Samra also stressed the importance of continuing and deepening relation between PCHR and trainers and their organizations, emphasizing that PCHR’s doors would always open to them to benefit from PCHR’s experience in this field of disseminating and promoting the culture of human rights.

For their part, the participants highly appreciated PCHR’s efforts to create new generation of youth trainers in the field of human rights. On behalf of the participants, Rafat Abu Sha’ban, from SOS Children’s Villages, thanked PCHR for its distinctive role in the dissemination of human rights culture in society and praised the new knowledge and skills they gained in the training field as its program was comprehensive.  He also commended the efficiency of the trainers and use of various and interactive training methods. Another participant, Hala Daher, Executive Director of Dar al-Shabab Commission said that the effective participation and discussions in the training sessions contributed to the enrichment of the course. Daher demanded PCHR continue holding similar courses because they would help the organizations to implement their awareness programs each in their area.

At the end of the course, all participants received certificates.
