Palestine’s Children Council meets Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967

Members of the Palestine’s Children Council – Gaza Strip along with their counterparts in the West Bank met with Francesca Albanese, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967.

The Gaza Strip’s children talked about their bitter experience and ongoing suffering during the war on the Gaza Strip due to the relentless bombardment, destruction of houses and repeated displacement with nowhere safe for children. During the Zoom meeting, the children expressed their fears about Israel’s ongoing genocidal war on the Gaza Strip that have collected to this day the lives of thousands of children.

Meanwhile, Ms. Albanese expressed her full solidarity with children, emphasizing that the children of Gaza and Palestine are not standing alone and the whole world is with them calling for a ceasefire and ending the genocide. She also demanded to hold a periodic meeting with the children to follow up on their issues and keep up with latest updates.
