In June 2025, the Israeli Occupying Forces (IOF) and Israeli settlers continued their crimes and violations of human rights and international humanitarian law against Palestinians and their properties in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem. These crimes have included willful killings, destruction of public and private property, arrests, threats, among others.
This report documents a serious escalation in willful killings, widespread destruction, forced displacement, and settlers’ attacks, which are carried out as part of comprehensive policy aimed at eradicating the Palestinian people and their existence.
Field data reveals that what is happening in the West Bank is not isolated violations, but part of a systematic plan of ethnic cleansing and a form of genocide broadly perpetrated by the IOF against the Gaza Strip. These violations are taking place amid alarming international silence and the inability of international bodies to hold Israel accountable and stop its escalating violations.
The IOF also exploited their war on Iran to impose severe restrictions and escalate their violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque in particular and occupied East Jerusalem in general.
The Following is some of violations highlighted and documented by the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR):
Killings and violation of the right to life and bodily integrity:
The IOF and settlers’ attacks during the reporting period in the West Bank have resulted in the killing of 14 Palestinians, including 12 civilians; amongst them 3 children and an elderly woman. Also, two Palestinians died in Israeli jails.
On 02 June, Yousef Foad ‘Abed al-Kareem Fuqaha (14) was shot dead by the IOF in Sinjil village near Ramallah, and his body was held, under the pretext that he had attempted to throw Molotov cocktails. However, footage refuted the IOF’s claims, showing Fuqaha under an olive tree in the area, neither carrying anything nor approaching the road used by settlers.
On 07 June, a Palestinian civilian, Mostafa ‘Ali Toul (30), was killed by the IOF after being directly shot with a live bullet in his head near the annexation wall in the vicinity of As-Samu village, south of Hebron. Also, two other Palestinians were injured in the incident; one in critical condition.
On 10 June, the IOF killed Nidal Mahdi Ahmed ‘Eimirah (40), an officer at the Palestinian National Security Service, and his brother Khaled (35), while they were trying to evacuate their family from Nablus’s Old City. Nidal and Khaled’s bodies were held by the IOF.
In the evening, in extra-judicial execution crime (assassination), the IOF killed Rayiq ‘Abed al-Rahman Sadeq Bisharat (47) near an under-construction house in Tammoun mount, southeast of Tubas, claiming he was a wanted person. Rayiq’s body was held by the IOF.
On 13 June, Raed Isma’il ‘Asa’sah (57), a Palestinian detainee from Illar village in Tulkarm, died in Israeli jails after 27 days of detention. According to the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and Palestinian Prisoner’s Club, no clear information has been provided regarding the circumstances of his death, except that he was transferred to an Israeli hospital on 09 June.
On 18 June, in extra-judicial execution crime (assassination), the IOF killed Mo’taz Hamza Hussain Hajajlah (22), from Al-Walaja village, northwest of Bethlehem, claiming he was a wanted person. He was arrested by the IOF from an under-construction house belonging to his relatives and was directly shot before the IOF held his body.
On 19 June, Mohammed Ahmed Mahmoud al-Hour (48) was killed by Israeli settlers after being shot with a live bullet in his neck during the settlers’ attack on ‘Ain Hamam area, north of Surif village, west of Hebron. Mohammed’s brother was also injured with a live bullet fired by the IOF, who arrived at the scene to protect the settlers and disperse Palestinians by firing shots into the air.
On 25 June, Zahiyia Raja Jouda Rabaiy’a (66) was killed by the IOF during their incursion into Shu’fat refugee camp, northeast of occupied East Jerusalem. The IOF shot Zahiyia with a live bullet in her head while she was on the roof of her house.
Also, Rayan Tamer Anwar Hoshaieh (14), from Al-Yamun village, was killed by the IOF after being shot with a live bullet in his neck while he, along with other people, were throwing stones at the IOF during their incursion into Al-Yamun village, west of Jenin.
On the same day, the IOF killed three Palestinian civilians and injured others while they were protecting Israeli settler gangs who stormed Kafr Malik village, east of Ramallah. The settlers carried out systematic attacks, including shooting and arson of civilian property. ( More details available in PCHR’s press release).
On 30 June, Loay Fisal Mohammed Nasrallah (22), a Palestinian detainee from Jenin, died in Israeli prisons. Loay had been held under administrative detention since 26 March 2024. He was transferred on the morning of 30 June 2025 from Negev Prison to Soroka Hospital in Israel, where he passed away. No further details were available regarding the circumstances of his death.
Thus, the death toll due to the IOF’s attacks in the West Bank since the beginning of this year has risen to 146, including 82 civilians, among them 24 children and 5 women. One of the women was pregnant and was killed with her fetus. Furthermore, 9 Palestinian detainees, including a child, have died in Israeli jails. Additionally, hundreds were injured by the IOF’s gunfire in the West Bank.
Demolition and land-razing
During the reporting period, the IOF demolished 201 facilities in the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem: 165 houses were completely demolished, among them, 10 were demolished under the pretext of unlicensed construction, 2 houses were demolished as part of the Israeli collective punishment policy, and 5 were self-demolished by the owners in Occupied East Jerusalem and Northern Jordan Valleys. They also demolished 27 commercial facilities and uprooted 9 tents.
From 20 to 27 June 2025, Nur Shams refugee camp witnessed a systematic destruction campaign carried out by the IOF, targeting dozens of residential buildings, particularly in al-Manshiya, al-Maslakh, al-‘Iyadah, and al-Jami’ neighborhoods. This led to the destruction of entire streets and the separation of neighborhoods from one another. In Tulkarm refugee camp, the IOF demolished over 50 buildings during the second half of June.
According to information gathered by PCHR’s staff, the IOF’s escalation in demolitions is part of a plan announced by the Israeli authorities in May 2025, which calls for the demolition of 106 buildings in the two camps. From 01 to 16 June, the IOF demolished 76 homes in Tulkarm refugee camp and 48 buildings in Nur Shams camp.
This plan has forcibly displaced more than 5,000 families of over 25,000 individuals and completely destroyed more than 500 houses, in addition to the partial damage of 2,573 others. The entrances to both camps have been closed off with sand berms and military checkpoints, turning them into unlivable zones.
On 30 June 2025, the IOF issued a new demolition order targeting 104 buildings, signaling the start of a widescale campaign of destruction and forced displacement.
On 09 June 2025, the IOF issued another order to demolish 90 new houses in Jenin refugee camp. Just three days later, Israeli bulldozers began demolishing those houses. This comes as part of a large-scale demolition campaign that the IOF has been carrying out since launching its military assault on the camp on 21 January 2025. The IOF continues to maintain full control over the camp, having established metal detector gates at its entrances, while ongoing demolition operations have so far targeted more than 600 houses.
Land confiscations and settlement expansion
During the reporting period, the IOF and Israeli settlers continued their settlement expansion policy materialized in confiscating and razing Palestinian lands to establish settlement outposts and expand settlements.
On 06 June 2025, Israeli settlers established a new settlement outpost in Um Nir area, north of Susya village, south of Yatta in southern Hebron.
On 29 June 2025, Israeli settlers established a new settlement outpost on the lands of Majdal Bani Fadil village, southeast Nablus.
Settler violence
Israeli settlers conducted 40 attacks against Palestinians and their properties in various villages and cities across the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem. Their attacks killed a Palestinian and injured 31 others; 7 were shot with live bullets, including one in critical condition. Among those injured were two foreign activists.
The attacks included the burning of three houses, a tent, three livestock barns, and ten private vehicles, as well as five solar panels, an electricity transformer, and agricultural tools. Settlers also stole 60 sheep from one of the barns along with agricultural tools, killed three sheep, and damaged large quantities of animal feed. Furthermore, they uprooted 250 fruitful olive trees and set fire to dozens of dunams of fields planted with wheat, barley, and olives.
IOF Attacks in Jerusalem:
The IOF continue their assaults in occupied East Jerusalem through settlement expansion, house demolitions, and restricting Palestinian worshippers’ access to Al-Aqsa Mosque, especially on Fridays.
On 02 June 2025, Israeli settlers stormed the courtyard of the Dome of the Rock Mosque, carrying tools believed to be used in religious rituals, in a blatant violation of the sanctity of the mosque, under the protection of the Israeli police.
With the onset of the Israeli war on Iran on 13 June, Israel declared a state of emergency that extended to occupied Jerusalem. As part of these measures, education was suspended, gatherings were banned, places of worship were shut down, and the city was turned into a closed military zone.
At dawn, the IOF stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, closed all its gates, and prevented Friday prayer. The closure lasted for 11 days before some gates were reopened under strict conditions, including limiting the number of worshippers.
In parallel, a tight security cordon was imposed on the Old City, blocking the entry of visitors, closing checkpoints and crossings, and shutting down the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. These measures have paralyzed movement and commercial activity throughout the city.
Despite the alleged security pretexts, the city had witnessed a significant surge in violations, including arrest campaigns and repeated raids. Demolition operations also continued, marking a further escalation of Israel’s policies of forced displacement and demographic exclusion.
Forced Displacement of Residents of Masafer Yatta in Hebron:
On 17 June 2025, the IOF issued an order to expel residents from 13 villages classified by the Israeli authorities as “non-permanent residents.” These villages span an area estimated at 33,000 dunams. The order included new directives allowing retroactive rejection of planning and building applications, with the aim of accelerating home demolitions. This decision is based on a ruling by the Israeli Supreme Court issued on 04 May 2022, which states that “there is no legal obstacle to evacuating residents from Area 918.”
This area includes 13 Palestinian communities within Masafer Yatta that are subjected to the IOF’s systematic policy, including the establishment of settlements and outposts, strict building restrictions, and denial of basic services such as electricity and water. These measures have further deteriorated the living conditions of approximately 1,200 residents who depend on agriculture and livestock for their livelihood.
While the IOF systematically plan to forcibly transfer the residents from what it designates as a “firing zone,” settlers have established 11 outposts in the area, six of which have been built since 07 October 2023. The settlers living in these outposts have formed the core of the daily attacks carried out against the residents of Masafer Yatta.
Restriction on freedom of movement and checkpoints
The IOF have established more military checkpoints in the West Bank, which now exceed 900 military checkpoints and metal detector gates, and tightened restrictions on freedom of movement between the cities and villages, rendering them isolated. During the reporting period, the IOF established hundreds of temporary checkpoints and metal detector gates along the streets and between the villages of the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, in addition to tens of permanent checkpoints aiming to restrict Palestinians’ freedom of movement.
Moreover, Palestinian civilians are subjected to inhumane and degrading treatment at military checkpoints, which obstruct their movement and endanger their lives, as they are killed based on unfounded suspicions or these checkpoints are used as traps to arrest allegedly wanted persons.
