Between 3 and 9 October 2026, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) killed 25 Palestinians, including five children, two women, and a paramedic, according to documentation by field researchers from the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR). These crimes are part of Israel’s ongoing genocidal campaign against the Palestinian people, now entering its fourth year. One year after the announcement of the ceasefire, the agreement has brought no meaningful change on the ground in terms of ending the killing or halting Israel’s continued attacks against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
In recent days, IOF have intensified the destruction of the few homes still standing across the Gaza Strip, forcibly displacing hundreds of Palestinians and triggering a new wave of displacement in the absence of adequate shelter or safe alternatives. The crisis is compounded by the fact that nearly two million Palestinians are living in worn-out tents and makeshift shelters that offer no protection and fall far short of the minimum conditions for dignified living. They are confined to an area comprising no more than 30 per cent of the Gaza Strip, while IOF remain deployed across the rest of the territory. Taken together, these conditions are deepening the displacement crisis and further worsening the suffering of the population, who face dire humanitarian situation amid continued attacks and the destruction of homes.
Among the most significant attacks documented by PCHR field researchers were the following:

However, IOF did not identify which house would be targeted.

Falling rubble and flying debris caused bruising to three people. The strike also partially damaged 40 tents and canvas tents in the area. This brings the cumulative toll since 7 October 2023 to 74,253 killed and 175,278 injured.
PCHR stresses that IOF’s continued killing and targeting of civilians despite the ceasefire, one year after its announcement, clearly demonstrates the absence of effective protection for the Palestinian population. This situation demands international action to ensure an end to the attacks, protect civilians, hold those responsible accountable for violations and crimes committed against Palestinians, and bring an end to impunity.
PCHR reiterates its call on the international community to recognize the ongoing situation in the Gaza Strip as genocide and to take immediate and effective measures in fulfilment of its obligations under international law and in accordance with the provisional measures ordered by the International Court of Justice in the case concerning the Gaza Strip. PCHR also calls on States to impose political, diplomatic, and economic sanctions and to support efforts to ensure accountability for perpetrators of international crimes. This includes supporting the International Criminal Court, particularly in light of the unprecedented attacks against the Court in response to its investigations into the situation in Palestine.
