After ceaseless efforts, al-Amal Bus finally launched its first journey from the Gaza Strip to occupied East Jerusalem transferring patients referred for treatment at al-Makassed Hospital and their companions.
This initiative came to alleviate the suffering of Gaza patients in their travel to hospitals in Jerusalem in cooperation between the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR), the Palestinian General Authority for Civil Affairs (GACA), the Coordination and Liaison Department (CLA) at the Ministry of Health, Basmat Amal Foundation for Cancer Patients, and al-Makassed Islamic Charitable Society Hospital, in addition to other prestigious figures.
This bus, which was called “Al-Amal Bus”, aims to transfer for free the Gaza Strip patients in order to alleviate their suffering during their travel and ensure their timely access to the hospital. On Monday, 27 February, the bus launched its first trip carrying 14 patients and their companions to al-Makassed Islamic Charitable Society Hospital.
The Patients and their companions expressed their gratitude to everyone who helped to make this charitable initiative possible that is part of the ongoing efforts exerted to serve patients.
It is worth noting that Gaza Strip patients suffer from several obstacles on their way to receive treatment abroad, including financial burdens due to the deteriorating economic situation of the Gaza Strip population.
