On 01
December 2013, unknown persons smashed the rear glass of a car belonging to Wasfi
Qobha, form Minister of Prisoners, when it was parked in front of his house in
Jenin in the north of the West Bank. 
This attack is part of the phenomenon of misuse of weapons and assaults
on the rule of law in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt).

 

According
to investigations conducted by the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR),
at approximately 01:15 on Sunday, 01 December 2013, unknown persons smashed the
rear glass of the car belonging to Wasfi ‘Ezat Qobha(53), form  Minister of Prisoners in the tenth
Palestinian government, and then fled. His 2007 (Hyundai Accent) car was parked
in front of his house in al-Basatin neighborhood in the northern West Bank town
of Jenin, when the attack happened.

 

The
Palestinian police, whose station is 200 meters away from the scene, arrived at
the scene and opened an investigation.

 

PCHR
condemns this attack, which is part of the phenomenon of misuse of weapons and
assaults on the rule of law in the oPt, and calls upon the Attorney General to
investigate it and bring the perpetrators before justice.
