On Monday, 21 October 2019, a Palestinian was shot and killed in Samou’ village, south of Hebron, on grounds of a family dispute. This attack the state of weapons proliferation and attacks on the rule of law in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt).
According to PCHR’s investigations, at approximately 11:00 on Monday Ahmed Mousa Bahees (49), from Yatta south of Hebron, was pronounced dead at al-Ahli Hospital in Hebron. The victim’s brother shot him in the chest with 2 live bullets in Samou’ village. The Public Prosecutor announced opening an investigation and referring the body the body to the forensic department at Al-Quds Abu-Deis University.
PCHR expresses its concern over the continued loss of lives due to the persistent phenomenon of weapons proliferation. The Centre calls upon concerned authorities to prosecute perpetrators, and to take necessary measures to safeguard citizens and enforce deterrence.
