Including the Mayor of Geneva and Swiss Representative to the PNA, a High Profile Swiss Delegation Visits PCHR
A 7-member Swiss delegation, headed by Patrice Mugny (Mayor of Geneva) and Jean-Jacque Joris (Representative of Switzerland to the Palestinian National Authority) visited PCHR on 8 December 2005.
The delegation met Mr. Jaber Weshah, PCHR’s Deputy Director, who briefed them about the Center’s work and different activities. In addition, Mr. Weshah discussed the Swiss support for Palestinian society.
It is noted that the delegation was scheduled to visit the Swiss Cultural Center for Women and Children, in the central part of the Gaza Strip, which was partially supported by the Geneva district. However, the visit was postponed due to a meeting with the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
PCHR continues to receive visiting international grassroots and official delegations as part of its efforts to portray the picture of what is happening in the OPT to the international community.
