PCHR Receives Kvinna Till Kvinna Delegate

On 23 and 24 of June 2009, the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) hosted Ann Levin, a delegate of the Swedish Kvinna Till Kvinna in Jerusalem. Kvinna Till Kvill  is one of PCHR Women’s Rights Unit’s major donors and partners, and the relationship between PCHR and Kvinna Till Kvinna extends back over many years.

Levin met with Raji Sourani, Director of PCHR, who appreciated the fruitful cooperation between PCHR and the Swedish organization. Sourani briefed the visitor on the human rights situation in the Gaza Strip and its negative impacts on the living conditions of Palestinian civilians, including women.

Levin also met with Mona al-Shawa, Director of PCHR Women’s Rights Unit, and discussed the unit’s activities and possible future cooperation. Al-Shawa accompanied the visitor to PCHR’s sub-office in Kan Younis where she met with the unit’s staff and was briefed on their activities.

It is worth noting that Levin held several meetings with representatives of a number of women’s organizations working in Gaza during her visit to the Gaza Strip.
