Field Update

On Thursday, 05 April 2012, Mohammed Yasser Mohammed Saleh, 17, from Jabalya refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip, while playing with a firearm belonging to a relative.

According to investigations conducted by the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR), at approximately 12:45 on the reporting day, the body of Saleh was brought to Kamal Odwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, in the north of the Gaza Strip, as he was hit by a bullet that penetrated and exited his chest.

The police opened an investigation into the incident and reported that initial investigations indicate that there is no criminal suspicion and that Saleh was playing with a firearm belonging by a relative in an under-construction apartment in his father's house.
